The Tl'azt'en Culture is passed on in the experience and wisdom of its elders. There are thirty-three Tl’azt’en elders who live in one of the following communities: Tache, Binche and Middle River. We have lost most our elders to sickness. Our elders are teaching the youth the culture so that we don’t lose it. The culture is still practiced in our community, but the language is not spoken by the young people any more. Our parents and our elders speak the language fluently, whereas, the youth are in the process of relearning it. Our elders are teaching the youth how to drum and sing, how to cook traditional foods and how to speak the language fluently.
